I’m Interested in Fostering

There are lots of myths about who can and can’t foster, please read our frequently asked questions below for more information…

Can I foster if…?

I am a single carer – this is fine; we have lots of single carers

I have my own children– we will need to ensure that your children understand what it will mean to become a fostering household and that this will not adversely impact on them. We would need to consider your own children in any potential match with a child in care

I don’t own my own house – providing your landlord agrees with you fostering this is fine

I have pets – we will risk assess each pet to ensure we cannot see they pose a risk of harm to a child

When I was younger I was in trouble with the police –  we will complete an Enhanced DBS on everyone in the household who is aged 16 or over. An offence may not necessarily prohibit you from fostering
